What is a hybrid energy system?

Hybrid solutions for the energy supply of the future

A hybrid system combines multiple energy sources and storage technologies into an integrated solution. The most common configuration includes solar panels, a battery energy storage system (BESS), and grid connection, all controlled by an intelligent energy management system (EMS).

How does it work?

The EMS optimises energy flows in real time: Solar panels produce electricity that is used directly first. Any surplus is stored in the battery. When solar production is lower than consumption, the battery delivers power. The grid is only used as backup or to sell surplus.

The result is maximised self-consumption of renewable energy, lower power peaks on the grid, and lower total energy costs.

Benefits of hybrid solutions

Up to 80–90% self-consumption of solar energy (compared to 30–40% without a battery), lower electricity bills through peak shaving, backup power during outages, and the ability to participate in flexibility markets. Globe Energy designs and installs complete hybrid solutions tailored to your needs.
